Survey Manager

The Survey Manager enables the management of Employer surveys for each Survey period. Survey questions can be created in either a Yes/No, Range or text format.

Edit Current Survey

You can quickly navigate to the current period's survey in the list of surveys by clicking the Edit Current Survey button. If there have been no responses recorded for the current period, you will be able to add, edit or delete questions. If the survey has already been resonded to, you will only be able to view the questions as demonstrated in the image below where the current survey indicate that there have been responses and, as a result, only the View Questions option is available.

Add New Survey

You can add a new survey for any period that does not have an existing survey. To do so:
Step 1. Click the Add New Survey button on the right side menu.
Step 2. Above the survey grid, Enter a name for the survey.
Step 3. Below the name, select the period to which this survey is related
Step 4. Click the Save button or click the Cancel button to cancel creating the new survey.

Add/Update Questions

For a new survey or for a survey that has no repsonses, the Add/Update Questions option will be available. To Add and/or Update Questions:
Select the survey you wish to modify in the grid and click the Add/Update Questions button below the grid. This will take you to the Question update screen as show below. If it is a brand new survey, the question grid will be empty. If you are modifying an existing survey, the grid will be populated with the survey's current set of questions.

Add Question

To Add a question:
Step 1. Click the Add Question button below the question grid. The add question page will be displayed.
Step 2. Enter the text for the question in the Question Text box. If you want the answer to this question to be required, but and asterisk (*) as the first character of the question text.

Step 3. Select the type of question. There are three types of questions:
Range: The response to the question is a range of values (i.e. Low,Medium, High or 1 thru 8). New ranges can be added as needed.
Yes/No: The response to the question is Yes or No
Text: The response to the question is a free form test entry.

Step 4. If you select Range as the question type, select the desired range from the drop down list of ranges. If none are appropriate, click the Create New Range button to create a new range.

Step 5.Click the Save button to save the question or the Cancel button to cancel adding the new question.

Edit Question

To Edit a question:
Step 1. Select the question you wish to edit in the grid.

Step 2. Click the Edit Question button.

Step 3. Edit the Question Text, Question Type and/or Range (if appropriate).
Step 4.Click the Save button to save the question or the Cancel button to cancel adding the new question.

Delete Question

To Delete a question:
Step 1. Click the Delete link on the question row you want to delete.

Set Sequence Order

You change the sequence order of the questions to get them to appear on the page in the order you want them presented to the user. To change the sequence order:
Step 1. Click the Set Sequence Order button below the question grid. The Arrange Question Sequence Order page will be displayed.

Step 2. Locate the question in the list that you want to relocate.
Step 3. Use the up and down arrows buttons on the right side of the list to move the question to the desired position in the list.
In the image below, a new question called "This is a test question" was added to the survey and by default falls at the bottom of the list. The question was moved up to fall below the Teamwork question.

Step 4. Click the Save Question Sequence Order to save your changes.

View Questions

If the selected survey has already been responded to by one or more employers, the only available option will be to view the survey questions. To view the questions:
Step 1. Click the View Questions button below the question grid. The View questions page will be displayed.
This page will display the survey Question Text, Response Legend, Answer Type and sequence number

Copy Survey

You can copy an existing survey to use as a starting point for the current of a future period. To Copy a Survey:
Step 1. Click the Copy Survey button in the menu on the left of the page.
Step 2. Select the source survey from the list of surveys.
Step 3. Enter a name for the survey.
Step 4. Select the period with which the survey will be associated. Only periods that do not have an associated survey will be available in the list.
Step 5. Click the Copy button to Copy the survey or Cancel to cancel the copy.

Add Range

When entering a range type of question, you may find that there is not a currently defined range that is appropriate for your question. In that case, you can add a new range by:
Step 1. While in the Add or Edit question page, click the Create New Range button. The Add Question - Add Range page will be displayed.

Step 2. Enter a name for the range.
Step 3. Click Save Range Name. This will activate the bottom grid where you can add range values.
Step 4. Click the Add New Value button below the grid. This will display the Add Range - New Value page.

Step 5. Enter a numeric integer value for the Range Value. Only numeric values allowed in this field.
Step 6. Enter a descriptive text for Range Value.
Step 7. Click the Save button to save the Range Value or Cancel to cancel adding the value.
Repeat steps 5 thru 7 until all of the range values are entered. In the example below, three values were entered, 1 - Low, 2 - Medium and 3 - High

From the range grid, you can click edit on a row to change the value and description or click Delete to delete a range value.
Click Return to go back to the Add/Edit question page. The new range will now be available in the drop down list of ranges.
